A Sweet Guelph Arboretum Maternity Session

There is something so special about getting to photograph couples through different seasons of life. I photographed Naz and Nathan’s wedding four years ago at the Royal Botanical Gardens, and getting to see them again for their maternity session was such a gift.

These two have always been such a sweet couple, and I was so excited to catch up with them as they prepare for this beautiful new chapter. So much has happened since their wedding day, and now they are just a few months away from welcoming their baby. What an exciting season!

As a Mississauga-based photographer, I always love finding beautiful outdoor locations across the GTA for maternity sessions. For their maternity photos, we met at The Arboretum in Guelph, which is always such an amazing location for portraits. I have photographed sessions here a few times now, and somehow, every time I go, I find a new little area that is perfect for pictures.

This time, we explored some of the gardens, found a beautiful open field, and even came across a wooden bridge I had not noticed before. The Arboretum is huge, which makes it such a great spot for photos because there are so many different backdrop options in one location.

One of the things I love most about Guelph Arboretum sessions is the variety. You can have a more polished, manicured garden look, or you can choose a wilder, more natural backdrop with trees, fields, and quiet pathways. It gives so much flexibility, especially for maternity photos.

It is also a peaceful location, which makes the whole session feel relaxed and easy. There is plenty of free parking, lots of space to walk around, and so many quiet areas that make it feel like you have a little corner of the property all to yourselves.

Naz and Nathan were so wonderful to photograph again. It felt less like starting from scratch and more like catching up with old friends. I loved hearing about what life has looked like for them since their wedding and seeing how excited they are to become parents.

Naz and Nathan, congratulations on this beautiful new chapter. I am so happy for you both and so honoured that I had the chance to document another meaningful season in your lives. I cannot wait for you to meet your sweet baby, and I am wishing you all the best as you step into parenthood.
