There’s something really special about photographing a family at home—especially when it’s a family I’ve had the honour of documenting through so many stages. I recently had the chance to visit Amanda and Vince for a newborn session at their Toronto home, and it was such a heartwarming experience.

It was so lovely to meet their new little daughter—she is absolutely precious! And seeing their oldest again was such a treat—he’s grown up so much since I last saw him. Watching him step into his new role as big brother was one of the sweetest parts of the session.

One of my favourite things about in-home newborn photography is how relaxed and personal it feels. Home is where everyone is most comfortable, especially for new moms adjusting to life with a newborn. There’s no rush, everything you need is nearby, and we’re able to capture your family exactly as you are in this season. It’s also the perfect place to include pets—and of course, I was thrilled to include Amanda and Vince’s furry family members in the photos. Pets are such an important part of the family story, and I always love when they get to be part of the moment, too.

The whole session was full of cuddles, giggles, and that quiet joy that comes with welcoming a new baby. It was such a pleasure catching up with Amanda and Vince, hearing how life has changed, and seeing them settle into life as a family of four.
