Stephanie and Mitchell’s Heritage Estate Winery Wedding was on a gorgeous summer day. I was really excited about this wedding because this couple was so sweet and the venue looked amazing and is brand new. Steph and Mitch had dated since high school and they had a very good group of friends who they had known for years.
When I arrived at Steph’s house in the morning, there was so much excitement in the air. The getting ready part of the day is always my favourite and Steph and her bridesmaids were having fun. I took some photos of them in their robes and then I took a few more once they were all in their dresses.
We drove to the Heritage Estate Winery and Steph and Mitch had a first look before their ceremony. I love when couples decide to have a first look because it’s such an amazing moment to capture and it also helps to ease the stress on the couple. There’s something special and calming about seeing your significant other before you walk down the aisle. I found a shady area on a path at the edge of the property for the first look and it was a really nice moment for Steph and Mitch. After the first look, we took some photos of the wedding party, family and then a few more of the couple.
The ceremony was held under a wooden structure in the middle of the property that provided some much needed shade for the guests. Steph and Mitch wrote their own vows, which made the ceremony unique and special. After the ceremony, the guests headed to a nearby covered area for cocktail hour.
The reception was in an amazing enclosed glass tent which was a gorgeous and unique feature about this venue. The décor was simple but looked amazing inside the light-filled building. There were tables with white table clothes, wooden chairs, tons of candles and the white and blue theme throughout. Twinkly lights were suspended on the ceiling and there were also some really nice chandeliers.
Steph and Mitch did their grand entrance and the MC made an announcement of a kissing game where guests needed to sing a song about the couple in order to get them to kiss. The songs that people came up with were so creative and hilarious. Everyone was laughing so much, including myself. This was a unique twist that provided tons of entertainment for the guests.
We snuck outside around sunset and took a few photos up on the hill near the vineyards. Heritage Estate’s is a gorgeous property with lots of great options for photography. We had a fun time taking their photos, and then we all headed back to the reception for the rest of the party.
It was a pleasure to take photos of Stephanie + Mitchell’s wedding. I loved getting to know this couple and it’s clear that they have amazingly supportive friends and family. Take a look at some of the photos below…
