Fall Holland Marsh Winery Wedding – Thuy + Ramon

Thuy and Ramon’s Holland Marsh Winery wedding was on a clear cool day last November.   Okay, I’ll be honest… it was pretty cold!  Fortunately, there was no snow and the sun was shining.   I arrived early to scope out the property and come up with a plan for the photos.  Once I had my plan I headed into the reception room to check it out.    When I walked into the reception room, I was blown away!  Everything looked picture perfect and the details were so well thought out.   Thuy later told me that they had only taken a few months to plan their wedding.  They must have been extremely decisive and efficient, because everything looked amazing.

I’ve always wanted to shoot at Holland Marsh Wineries and I was so excited to be there for Thuy and Ramon’s wedding.  Holland Marsh winery is a great location for a wedding for a few reasons…  The reception room is large and bright with windows on three sides of the room.   It has beautiful high ceilings and the wooden structure makes it very cozy.    There is also a bridal getting ready area on the second floor of the building that is spacious and has great lighting as well.

After I arrived onsite, I took some photos of Thuy and her bridesmaids in the second-floor area near the bridal suite.  This area has minimal clutter and amazing window light, making it great from a photography perspective.  Having the getting ready location onsite makes things so much easier for everyone.   The hair and makeup was all done at the winery and we didn’t have to worry about traveling to another location.

The groom, Ramon arrived about an hour later and I took some photos of the couple around the property.  It was pretty chilly outside, so we kept the photo session short and sweet.  We started by taking photos in the vineyards which are located right next to the reception building.   The sun was setting behind them and it was a really nice spot for photos.  After taking a few photos there, we headed over to the pond on the property.   I like to get a few different backdrops for the bride and groom photos so that the couple has a lot of options to choose from when they decide to print their photos.

We wrapped up the photo session and the guests arrived for the party.  It was a really fun night and the guests had a blast.  I loved being there to photograph Thuy and Ramon’s wedding and I wish them many years of happiness!  Check out some of my favourite photos below…

These getting ready photos were taken at Holland Marsh Winery.  This bridal suite area was an ideal location for photos.

After Ramon arrived, we headed outside to take some bride and groom photos by the vineyards.  It was cold outside but Thuy and Ramon were troopers!

These photos were taken at the pond area which is also very close to the main building at Holland Marsh winery.  I love how these photos turned out.   The sun sets so early in November, so the sun was nice and low in the sky when I took these…

I love this one.. How pretty does Thuy look here?!

The navy accents in the reception room looked really nice against all the yellowish wood.   I thought Thuy and Ramon did an amazing job picking the decor.

There were so many happy faces at the wedding reception.  You could see that people were excited to get out and celebrate.

Thuy’s daughter did an amazing speech and almost brought a tear to my eye!

I have so many happy memories from Thuy and Ramon’s big day.  Congratulations!
