It’s engagement season, and I know there are many newly engaged ladies out there who would like to show off their rings! Being engaged is such an exciting time and since everyone will be checking out your new bling, it’s the ideal time to get a pretty manicure…
What can I say…like lots of ladies out there, I’m also a fan of nice rings and pretty manicures! A few months ago, I checked out a new nail salon in my neighbourhood of port credit, Mississauga called the Ten Spot. The orange sign and bright white interior caught my eye and I knew I had to check it out. When I went for my appointment, I was amazed by the bright, white clean interior. There is amazing natural light in there! It was spotless and modern and it gave me confidence that it was a hygienic place (very important). I loved that the ladies there used disposable foot file pads and the pedicure basins were stainless steel; two things which showed me that they were very conscious about cleanliness.
The staff there were also exceptional. They were very helpful with choosing colours and they were up on all the latest trends. They paid so much attention to detail and made sure that I was very happy with the result. Needless to say, I was impressed! After my appointment, I asked them if they would help me with a blog post on nail trends for brides, and they happily obliged…
So here, you go! The ladies at the Ten Spot in port credit came up with some really cool and trendy ideas for manicures that I think you will love. Take a look and let me know what you think!
There are a ton of great polishes to choose from, including their own brand called “Get Nailed”
Here’s the friendly and bubbly manager Brittinee welcoming customers at the front desk….
And, drumroll please…. Here are the epic nail designs from the staff at the ten spot. Let’s start with a design by Sam who is the resident Nail Artist at this location. We called this one “true love”….
#1 – True Love
Can you believe that Sam applied this to herself?! Unbelievable! This design includes a few trends which are big right now, one of which is the geometric design. We thought it was reminiscent of the facets of a diamond, which was quite fitting. Another upcoming trend in weddings is the colour scheme of tiffany blue and copper. Doesn’t it look fresh and modern? Kudos to Sam for coming up with this winning design.
Here are the colours that she used to create this look:
Starting from the left:
OPI – Gelato on my Mind
OPI – Alpine Snow
OPI – Worth a Pretty Penne
#2 – French Amour
‘Tis the season for showing off your ring! Why not put a spin on a classic french manicure and add a glittery heart? The ladies at the Ten Spot are all about the details and this manicure will definitely add some je ne sais quoi to your hands. Thank you to Suzanna for modelling this great looking manicure!
To create this look, the ladies at the Ten Spot used the following:
OPI – Alpine Snow
Essie – Beyond Cozy
#3 – Blushing Bouquet
Here’s a spin on a neutral manicure that is so popular right now. Jess, picked a nice opaque nude shade and added flower accents with a touch of bling. This manicure is understated and pretty will surely make an impression…
To create this look you can use:
Gelish – Do I look buff? (Alternatively, you can use OPI Do you take layaway)
OPI – Worth a pretty penny
#4 – Rose Gold Glam
Last but not least, Brittinee is wearing a pretty combo of pale pink with a rose gold glitter ombre topping. Rose gold has been very popular in weddings and manicures for a while and this combination looks great! Lots of variations can be done with this look, including using a more neutral base and having glitter concentrated at the top and fading to the bottom.
To achieve this look Brittinee used:
OPI – Bubble bath
Essie – A cut above (for the sparkle)
Now Open for Bachelorette Parties!
I found out while I was there, that the Port Credit location is now licensed, and they offer bubbly, white and red wine! This would make it an ideal location to host a bachelorette party with your girlfriends. Brittinee mentioned that they can even bring in a charcuterie platter if you wish… Cheers to that!
Anyhow, thanks so much to the talented staff of the ten spot for coming up with these great designs and letting me come in and take photos. Here’s a little behind the scenes shot of the ladies….
I hope you liked the nail designs. Please let me know what you think in the comments!
