Summer Markham Museum Wedding – Erin + Trevor

Erin and Trevor’s Markham Museum wedding was on a beautiful summer day.   The weather was perfect for their outdoor wedding and tented reception.   If you are considering having an outdoor wedding in Ontario, the Markham Museum is a perfect option.  It is centrally located, there is beautiful scenery and it’s a one stop wedding location.  Having your ceremony and reception at the same location makes things easier for everyone at your wedding.

It was obvious that Erin and Trevor had put a lot of thought into planning their outdoor wedding.   They embraced the rustic vibe of the venue and you could see that it influenced a lot of their choices. From the groomsmen’s clothing to the décor at the reception and ceremony, everything coordinated so well.  Erin and Trevor’s hard work paid off and their wedding ended up being a beautiful, Pinterest-worthy celebration!

The Markham Museum is also an ideal location for wedding photography since the grounds are huge and there are so many historic buildings that can be used as a backdrop.     There is also so much beautiful greenery and nature, so you can have a lot of variety in your photos.    Erin and Trevor decided to take their bridal party and couple photos after their ceremony.  We chose to take many of the photos at various buildings which provided shade from the bright sunlight.    We started with a group photo at the Wilson Varsity Hall, which provided a nice clean white backdrop.  We also took photos at the Locust Hall Train Station and the James Maxwell Log Cabin.   In the end, they had many photos with different looks because of the variety of backgrounds.

Take a look below to see some of my favourite photos from Erin and Trevor’s wedding…

I loved Trevor’s accessories.  Didn’t everything come together perfectly?!

Trevor gave these cool custom money clips to his groomsmen.  It was a thoughtful practical gift…

Erin and Trevor lucked out with the weather and it was a beautiful day.  The white building provided the perfect backdrop for their ceremony.

I loved Trevor’s expression when he saw Erin coming down the aisle.  I’m always waiting for this moment and it did not disappoint!

We kept walking around and finding more photogenic buildings for the photos.  There are so many good spots for photography at the Markham Museum that it makes it easy to get great shots.

I loved the sunflowers at this wedding.  They were so bright and cheerful and they looked beautiful in this setting.

I think you can’t go wrong with having a candy bar at a reception, and this one was very good.

There were so many emotional moments at the reception.  There was laughter and there were tears and people had a great time.

Congratulations E+T!   It was a wonderful wedding and I wish you many years of happiness together.
