When I married into the Kirk family, I was very fortunate to gain Emma Kirk as a sister in law. Emma has been designing wedding stationary for over ten years through her company Ingledew Invites. She began many years ago with a home office and recently, she moved to a new location in Etobicoke right near highway 427 and Burnhamthorpe Road.
I went to Emma’s office a few weeks ago to ask her about her business and trends in wedding invitations. Please read the interview below!
Nicole: Tell me a bit about yourself…
Emma: I started Ingledew invites over ten years ago after planning my own wedding and seeing a need for quality custom invitations. My business allows me to combine my design skills as well as my creativity and customer service skills. Ingledew invites offers custom stationary for all your wedding needs including: save the date cards, shower invites, wedding invites, programs, place cards, and seating charts. Wedding invitations set the tone for your event and we work with you to ensure that your guests will be excited for your wedding once they open up their invitation. We pride ourselves on designing elegant, beautiful and timeless stationary.
Nicole: How does the ordering process work?
Emma: We will first meet with you at our office or we can or communicate over the phone or by email. We have hundreds of example invitations at our office that you can peruse if you wish. I encourage my brides to send me a pinterest inspiration board for their wedding so that we can design an invitation that reflects their vision for their big day. After the first consultation, I will come up with several designs for you to choose from. Once we have narrowed down the design, I can assist you with the wording on the invitations as well. After the invitations are designed, I can design coordinating stationary for all your other needs.
Nicole: What are some trends that you are seeing in wedding invitations?
Emma: We offer many different types of invitations however, there are a few types that are very popular lately…
1. The first trend is classic colours. Popular colours include: blush, gold, champagne and rose gold. These are all colours that will look beautiful and timeless on your invitation.
2. Florals are also very popular for weddings. The design possibilities for florals are endless. Here’s an example of a pretty floral invitation suite we designed for a recent wedding.
3. Laser cut invitations are another popular trend. We offer a ton of different types of laser cut invitations. There are many different colours available and we offer pockets, square as well as rectangular formats.
4. Another recent trend is foil stamping. This allows you to have metallic lettering on your invitations. It looks very classy and glamourous.
